Basic Grooming for Owners
This course is designed to offer an introduction to the techniques and skills needed to be able to competently groom a dog. The course length is 1 day and will cover the following:

How to keep you and your dog safe

The equipment that you need and how to use it correctly

How to bath your dog, what shampoo should be used and how to correctly dry your dog

Learn to Groom and Style Your Dog
A course tailored to suit your specific dog. This course is specifically designed around the individual and is run and priced per half day. Most owners and breeds will need at least one and a half days to learn the basic styling skills needed to confidently finish their dog. Lessons are spaced over a period of time according to coat re-growth On this course you will learn the following:

The equipment that you need and how to use it correctly

How to bath your dog, what shampoo should be used and how to correctly dry your dog

How to groom out and prepare your dog for styling

Different types of equipment available and how to use it for styling the coat

How to care for ears, nails, teeth and bottoms
Grooming Dogs for a Living
This is a 30 day course that will provide you with all of the skills you will need to earn a living from grooming dogs. This course can be run on a full time, part-time or block training basis depending on your availability and requirements. On completion, you will be receive a college certificate. The course fee will include a copy of The Dog Groomers Manual, a starter kit (containing straight scissors, blending scissors and comb), an equipment case and a grooming tabard. The course will cover the following:

First Aid for the dog and groomer

Health checking and breed health monitoring

Preventative care
-
Preparing a variety of coats for styling
-
Bathing and drying
-
Grooming and styling skills

Equipment cleaning, care and maintenance

Bio security for the work area

Setting up your business
City & Guilds Dog Grooming
This course will meet all of the requirements to meet the City and Guild level 3 certificate in Introductory Dog Grooming and the level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming qualifications. The course is run over a 35 day duration and this can be completed on a full time, part time or block training basis depending on your availability and requirements.
The course fee will include student registration fees for City & Guilds 7763/03, The Dog Groomers Manual, Student kit (containing comb, straight scissors and blending scissors), equipment case, grooming tabard, City & Guild qualification guide and City & Guild Assessment workbook.
On completion, students will complete an online assessment and will style 3 specified dogs for assessment by a City & Guild assessor.
